Anthony & Danica's Multi-Generational Wedding in Turks & Caicos
First came love, then came … a baby in a baby carriage. Shortly after a whirlwind romance and an epic beachfront proposal on Miami Beach, Anthony and Danica found out they were expecting! The whole extravagant dream wedding thing had to wait when little Isla made a grand debut into their lives. "It wasn’t planned, but we were so excited to start a family. Once our daughter was born, we focused on her. Priorities changed. The wedding ended up being put on pause", Danica shared.
When they felt it was finally time to tie the knot, they decided to rethink the size and location of their big day. It was the perfect excuse for a tropical destination family wedding with their closest family and friends. After looking through numerous destinations, it was Beaches Turks & Caicos in Providenciales that checked all the boxes on their wish list, including a great kid’s program with nanny service, a family-friendly vibe and an amazing beach setting.
Let the memories begin
Working closely with their Beaches wedding team, Danica and Anthony turned their dream destination family wedding into a reality. For starters, they made sure that the week’s itinerary was packed with new adventures each day. To kick-off the celebration, the couple hosted His & Hers events.
When the sky began to turn every shade of orange and pink, the entire party regrouped for a sunset cruise in Turks & Caicos aboard a chartered sailboat. The trip took them along Provo’s stunning coast with music filling the air, cocktails in hand, and the Caribbean twilight emerging in the background.
Playing castaway for the day, Danica, Anthony, Isla and their closest family members boarded a boat and headed to Half Moon Bay ‘s Little Water Cay — One of hundreds of uninhabited cays and islands that surround Turks & Caicos. Even before they arrived, the Caribbean revealed some of its magic.
“We were standing on the deck, taking in the sights, when all of a sudden we saw a group of dolphins trailing behind us, jumping up and down in the wake,” Danica Shared, excitedly. “It was like something out of a movie. When do you get to see dolphins that close in the wild? It was really something.”
And, that was only the beginning. If you have ever wondered how many shades of blue exist in the world, this is the place to be. White sandbars were peeking through the deep, sapphire sea and raked across.
Under clear skies, the group enjoyed snorkeling and a private picnic on the beach to wrap-up the day. The boat’s captain-turned-fisherman-and-chef caught conch directly from the sea and served up a traditional conch salad with fresh citrus fruits. When it was time to head back to the resort, everyone knew it was the kind of day they’d have to keep pinching themselves about as a reminder they weren’t dreaming.
Happily, ever after
Bamboo chairs lined a white-sand aisle and led to a stunning wood arbor adorned with a wispy arrangement of magenta, burgundy and peach florals. The ceremony and exchanging of vows truly embodied the elegant island vibe that Danica and Anthony had envisioned. It was all herald to the evening ahead—beautiful views, chic Caribbean-inspired décor, and many more moments filled with tears of joy.
The reception was situated on the rooftop of the resort’s Sky Restaurant, an oversized farmhouse table, topped with dramatic, cascading florals and subtle pops of gold, welcomed wedding guests to an intimate dinner gathering. As twinkling candles and the Caribbean dusk set the scene, the newlyweds indulged in filet mignon, baked couscous and flowing wine from the wedding menu before sharing their first dance as husband and wife.
After dinner, an ivy-lined staircase led the family wedding group to the pool deck below for more dancing. Harmonizing with the pair’s party side was a blazing, club-like atmosphere complete with fire dancers, an open, top-shelf bar, and a DJ who was positioned over the pool. As the celebrations carried on through the night, the duo reminisced about their incredible journey and toasted to new beginnings with friends and family by their side.
