Today's teens are far from stationary. With dreams of traveling to new places and meeting new people, travel is an important step on their journey of self-discovery. This fact is especially true for fifteen-year-old Sabrina Stewart, daughter of Cheryl and Gordon "Butch" Stewart, founder and chairman of Sandals and Beaches Resorts. Travel is truly a part of Sabrina's DNA, entreating her with the pleasure and privilege to travel all over the world – have passport, will travel!
The new Beaches Resorts Teen Advisory Panel (TAP), founded by Sabrina, invites influential teens from all over the world to join her on her Caribbean travels, creating unique programming along the way. TAP hones in on what teens are looking for at Beaches Resorts and creates the ultimate teen experience from amenities to activities. In the words of Sabrina, TAP is THE source of teen intelligence.
Members of the Beaches Resorts Teen Advisory Panel (TAP), recently gathered at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa for their first official meeting and were also the first to participate in Island Impact, a new program that allows full-time students ages 13+ to earn community service hours while on vacation at Beaches.
Created by Beaches Resorts in partnership with the non-profit Sandals Foundation and facilitated through Island Routes Caribbean Adventures, Island Impact gives full-time students the opportunity to earn up to ten community service hours while vacationing at Beaches Resorts in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos.
Opportunities to serve include:
Reading Road Trip - a literacy outreach campaign in conjunction with locally supported schools.
Beach, park or community clean-up projects.
Computer skills tutoring and mentorship.
Assistance at special interest local youth camps.
Pack for a Purpose® - an opportunity to collect and deliver 5 pounds of much-needed school and toiletry supplies.
