Scholastic reading road trip

Join us for an inspirational morning and meet some beautiful
Caribbean children and support our mission to improve their
educational development. The Reading Road Trip is a literacy
enhancement program designed to help develop reading
skills through small group sessions that include reading great
stories, completing literacy worksheets, using manipulatives
and playing educational age-appropriate games.

Swim Feast on the beast

Guided marine sanctuary

The conservation of our coral reefs is important for multiple
reasons aside from being credited for contributing to the
most diverse ecosystems on the planet. The Caribbean
has lost 80% of its coral coverage in recent years, which
could lead to the eventual disappearance of our beaches
and collapse of the fishing industry. The Sandals
Foundation in partnership with Coral Restoration
Foundation and CARIBSAVE planted over 500 pieces of
coral. These corals were produced from a nursery built
within the Boscobel Marine Sanctuary. Come dive (or
snorkel) with us and experience this masterpiece.

Feast on the Beast
Lionfish Presentation & Luncheon

Come feast on the beast! Join us to learn more about the
lionfish epidemic and enjoy a wide selection of lionfish
dishes. The Caribbean is under severe threat from the
recent invasion of Lionfish, one of the fastest finfish
invasions in history, and it has become increasingly
important that countries which have been invaded build the
technical capacity to respond to the invasion. "Caribbean
governments need to realize the urgency of this matter.
The lionfish eat very small fish at a rapid rate and are
wiping out fish stocks," University of the West Indies
lionfish Researcher Dr. Dayne Budd said.

turtle nesting

All species of Sea Turtles are on the endangered species
list. The Sandals Foundation has partnered with several
Sea Turtle programs in order to help restore sea turtle
populations and raise community awareness. We have
partnered with the Oracabessa Foundation to host Turtle
Tours from the Ocho Rios area. Through the turtle tours we
have been able to release over 44,000 baby Hawksbill
turtles into the sea. These tours have also raised funds for
Jamaica's first turtle egg incubator, as well as a weather
station to help better monitor weather conditions to predict
when nests will hatch.
