Sesame Workshop CEO Mel Ming Visits The Beaches Caribbean Adventure With Sesame Street

August 14, 2012 - Beaches Resorts - Kids Activities & Programs

It was a sunny day in Providenciales last week, as Sesame Workshop President & CEO, Mr. Mel Ming, visited Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa to see Elmo & friends in action during the Beaches Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street

As a proud sponsor of Sesame Street®, Beaches Resorts is the only Caribbean resort company to offer engaging activities with a colorful cast of walk-around characters including Elmo, Cookie Monster, Super Grover, Zoe, Bert and Ernie, Abby Cadabby, The Count and Big Bird. With so many hands-on activities available, from Baking with Cookie Monster to Story Time with Elmo, there is an ideal activity for every child.

Along with new entertaining activities, everyone’s furry friends will ensure children and their families can learn, have fun and spend quality time together. This year’s exciting additions to the Beaches Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street include:

  • Super Grover: He's blue, he's furry, he soars through the air—he's Super Grover! This spunky super hero observes, questions, and investigates, and inspires children to do the same.  Beaches Resorts is delighted to welcome Super Grover to the line-up of Sesame Street® characters as part of the exclusive Beaches Resorts Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street®.  Super Grover will take children on an age-appropriate journey through the scientific process with plenty of breaks for silliness along the way, and encourage them to unleash their powers of investigation.
  • Super Grover’s Super Science Fair: As a part of the Beaches Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street®, this new activity will encourage children to experience the joy of scientific investigation by participating in a “Super Science Fair.”  Hosted by everyone’s favorite furry, blue and curious friend, Super Grover, the Super Science Fair allows children to experience three exclusive activities geared toward experimenting and investigation:

At “Investigating Sand Treasures with Zoe,” participants will use tools to dig for seashells and gems, then observe and weigh these objects.

Children can make their own bubble wand and compare  shapes of bubbles at “Bert's Bubble Experiment.”

Additionally, children will learn about things that float and sink at "What Floats in Ernie's Bathtub?"

  • Super Grover: Ready for Action Stage Show: Everyone's favorite furry blue Super Hero is joined by his Sesame Street® friends on stage for some investigating excitement and adventure. The Super Grover: Ready for Action Stage Show will be launching at select Beaches Resorts this September.
  • Abby and Elmo’s Surprise Tea TimeHelp Elmo plan a surprise party for his friend Abby Cadabby. Children will use their imaginations to dress up, wrap presents (using recycled cardboard boxes and paper), make cards and yell “Surprise!” when Abby arrives. Following the big surprise, children will present Abby with gifts, and then sit down for a “tea party” and delicious snacks with their favorite furry friends.
  • Elmo & Friends Rock N’ Roll Dance Party:  Elmo invites guests of all ages to join his band to prepare and practice for a special rock concert performance. Children will play musical instruments and boogie down island style with their favorite Sesame Street® characters, while exploring tempos with a variety of musical instruments like tambourines, shakers and drums. Elmo’s special bandmates will get their creative juices flowing even more by decorating their own paper guitars with stickers, string and glitter.
