The Italian Village and Waterpark, scheduled to open in January 2009, will feature its own lobby, check-in area, lavish family suites, new gourmet dining options and retail space. The expansion project will also add a brand new waterpark, ten times the size of the original Pirate's Island area and soon-to-be one of the largest in the Caribbean. Not for the faint of heart, kids of all ages will splash about in the lazy river, get wild in the surf, or take the plunge down numerous twisting and turning waterslides.
Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa's popular Pirate's Island Waterpark will be expanded to ten times its initial size and will become one the largest, most comprehensive waterparks in all of the Caribbean.

The Italian Village will include a new Pirate & Mermaid-themed Kids Kamp facility, which will cater specifically to kids and tweens (ages 6 - 12). This new themed-area will offer more video arcade games, an expanded XBOX 360® Game Garage featuring Xbox 360® game consoles, space for Beaches Resorts' Beach Science programs, a games area, and space to engage children's imagination and artistic ability through Crayola® Art Camp activities.
Teens will enjoy a host of activities and amenities designed just for them. During the day, the Italian Village's new nightclub, Liquid—an aqua-themed space built above the waterpark that features a sunken dance floor with views of the lazy river—will transform into a teen lounge. This new space, sure to be the hit of the resort, will be complete with jammin' music and internet access and will be just steps away from a new and improved game room where teens and tweens can try their luck at pool, foosball and basketball, all in a retro black light environment.
Release your inner DJ! Beaches Resorts has teamed up with the world famous Scratch DJ Academy so you can go inside the exclusive world of the DJ. Come learn how to mix, blend & scratch on vinyl, CD's or even your iPod!
The new Italian Village will also offer four new dining options, including a 250-seat Italian restaurant with a Medieval-themed Sesame Street section just for the little ones, casual Barefoot by the Sea restaurant set right on the sand, a traditional wood-fired pizza oven serving up fresh made-to-order pizzas, a British pub with traditional bangers and mash and local ales as well as a hamburger and hotdog joint, Kids Grille.
The new Village will also be home to a 7,000-sq.-ft. retail area, offering values and valuables for everyone. Adults can enjoy a duty-free store showcasing high-end jewelry; a fashion boutique; and an art gallery featuring works by well-known and Caribbean artists, as well as special events including wine tastings by Beringer.
Available in 14 room categories—featuring stunning pool, garden or ocean views—all family suites will include luxurious bedrooms for adult guests, complete with a sitting area with day bed or pullout sofa, plasma TV, bar area and mahogany four-poster bed dressed with luxurious, coral-themed linens. The suites second bedroom will cater specifically to kids with bunk beds, multi-function game table, vanity unit with basin and mirror and a plasma TV. The children's room's decor will feature sand dollar prints on pillows and duvet covers.
