Sandals Resorts International is aware that the travel and tourism industry has the potential to contribute significantly to environmental preservation, especially if there are specific efforts to monitor the impact of daily operations on the surrounding environment.

The Company has made a commitment to identify, monitor, and manage all significant environmental aspects associated with the operations of the hotels including but not limited to; freshwater & energy use; solid waste & wastewater disposal; hazardous substances; greenhouse gas emissions; land & ecosystem conservation and management; and community development & cultural relations to involve the employment of suitably qualified local personnel in keeping with our existing human resource policy. The hotels will also actively monitor and implement programs to minimize noise pollution and to reduce potentially hazardous air emissions, where these issues can be identified within our operations, and to ensure that all operational legislative and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

All Sandals and Beaches Resorts are committed to implementing and maintaining this policy with management systems that effectively address the aspects of hygiene, health, safety and environmental concerns identified. This policy formalizes the organization’s commitment to implementing management systems that ensure appropriate levels of health, safety, and environmental consciousness within our hotels for all guests and team members. It is also aimed at ensuring the sustainability of our business and community development policies through local purchasing preferences and continuous improvement in the utilization of our natural resources within the Caribbean.
